Parents for a night

This weekend was one of our biggest (and funnest) adventures as newlyweds. We had the opportunity to be parents for a night as we watched our niece Gianna Saturday night through Sunday morning. It was so much fun to watch her, and ended up being Baby 101 for Lew. Since Lew really didn't have any experience with babies I decided to let him try to do as much as he could so he could learn a little bit about taking care of a baby. It was so sweet to watch him with Gianna. He was very gentle and did such a good job with all the little tasks I gave him. See the pictures below which capture all of his new learning experiences.

Learning how to spoon feed...
Yup that is sweet potatoes smeared across her little face ;) Lew had a hard job because every time he would feed her a spoon full she would attempt to put her thumb in her mouth which made quite a mess!

A closer up picture of her sweet potatoed face ;)

Learning how to play with her...

He did such a good job of keeping her busy and even tried to use funny voices to get her attention! Worked like a charm.

Learning how to bottle feed...

Here he is...Mr. "Dad", doesn't he look so official with that burp rag on his shoulder? ;)

Learning how to burp her...
In fact Lew mastered this one so well that when he heard her wake up crying in the middle of the night he asked me "Do you want me to go burp her?" He really had this one down.

Here is Sam and Pri's other baby Daisy. She is a pitbull and as sweet as can be! She was very well behaved and made caring for 2 babies seem like nothing ;)

So yes, we enjoyed our parenthood trial, but for those who are wondering we are hoping to wait at least 2-3 years to have our own little ones...so it will be a little while before there are any Laura-Lew's running around. In the meantime any parents out there who would like us to be parents for the night for you just let us know ;) It's kinda fun because you can enjoy them for the night and then go right back to normal life the next day!

Wedding pictures...finally!

At last we got our wedding photos! So here are a some of them to sum up our day ;) Unfortunately because of the way I posted them the order of the day is backwards and starts at the end. So if you want to look at them in order you can start at the bottom of the post.
Enjoy ;) (To see the pictures better you can blow them up by clicking on them..I think!)

Cake Cutting ceremony

We really had no idea how to cut the cake! It was pretty funny, we just looked at it like...uhhh....and then finally we just did our best. The cake was more like a blob on our plate but hey mission accomplished ;)

Saying our vows (which Lew had written)

Lighting our unity candle

This was right after the unity candle was lit...we had a nice long (funny) conversation on stage while our song played. We had so much catching up to do from that morning ;)

Right after my Father gave me away

This picture makes me laugh because of the look on Lew's face. He was sooooo happy and you could see it all over his face for the entire day!

My Dad and I making our way down the isle to "Grace Flows Down" by Watermark

Here is Lew watching me walk down the isle....look at his smile...so sweet! I remember as I was walking down feeling so nervous but then as soon as my eyes met his and I saw his big smile I felt so happy and full of peace!

Me before the ceremony...I was really nervous! In some of the pictures you can see it in my eyes...That lasted until right before the ceremony and then as soon as we made our way down the isle I was at perfect peace.
